SIMODEC: the key meeting place for screw-machining professionals

SIMODEC has been organised as a biennial event since 1954, and has become an institution within the industry, bringing together screw-machining manufacturers and suppliers.

A high-tech trade show

Nowadays, cutting-edge companies are increasingly moving into the manufacture of highly technical parts, and that requires new machinery.
The representativeness and renown of the SIMODEC international trade show make it a key international crossroads that is increasingly used to promote high-performance technologies.

A few figures about the 2008 event

SIMODEC 2008 attracted 275 exhibitors, 20% of whom were from outside France, all specialised in machine tools, tooling, automatisms, robotics, metrology, monitoring, raw materials and services. 551 different brands were represented at the event.
14,900 visitors attended from 51 different countries, an increase of 11% over the previous event. This increase stems largely from French visitors, with the number of visitors from the Haute-Savoie (51%) and Rhône-Alpes region holding up, an increase of 14.6% from Auvergne, 10% from Burgundy, 9% from the Pays de Loire region and 8.8% from the Midi-Pyrénées region.
Overall, the number of overseas visitors remained stable. Switzerland still sends the most visitors, whilst the number from Italy increased by 4.25%, from Germany by 15% and Spain by 68%. There were also more visitors from Eastern Europe, and the number of American visitors went unchanged.

The "Arve-Industries Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc" competitiveness cluster is actively involved in this key event in industrial and economic life, organising technical conferences and presenting the ‘Talents 2010’ operation, a global training and human resources project.

SIMODEC confirms its role as a key event, offering synergies and meeting the needs of screw-machining professionals.
